About Me

CURRENT MISSION:

Riding my road bike that I painted (yes, me. I didn’t bring it to a shop) from Rome to Amsterdam between June 14 and July 29. I’m really hoping to be able to meet and stay with people from Couchsurfing so I can get a real feel for the places that I visit. I’ve mostly been wild camping, which has been hit or miss😅.

PHILOSOPHY

When you risk failing you also risk succeeding.

Compassion

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I could stay at hostels and hotels, or continue in my tent but I'm hoping to connect with people, and make friends with local people who have more valuable knowledge than a book or concierge can provide. I like to listen to others. I can cook, do laundry, and turns out my trade makes me very handy, I'd be happy to help my hosts in anyway I can. I'm looking forward to making friends!

Interests

I guess I've picked up quite a few, I am only human so I'm not able to do all of them at the same time, I don't live near the ocean or the mountains so I don't get to snowboard or surf as much as I'd like.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite books are Losing my Virginity, and Into the Wild, I just read the Bruce Springsteen book, that was quite good. My favorite music changes often, but my long time favorites are The Avalanches, Ratatat, and The Chemical Brothers. My favorite movie is The Fifth Element.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Amazing is a strong adjective, yet still relative. For me learning Chinese was most amazing, to others flying a helicopter around Hawaii and Arizona. I am also fond of the night I drove a scooter around Penghu island (TW) using only the light of the moon to guide my way (turned off my headlight). Its pretty incredible how they eyes are adapted to operate in such a dark environment.

but also I Played "My Name Is Jonas" on expert in Guitar Hero. ….. Guitar Hero, I’m old🤣

Teach, Learn, Share

Cold showers are very uncomfortable but invigorating. Adopt dogs, don't buy. Anyone can learn to fly a plane, fixing them is the hard part. Not sure what I am supposed to put in this section, but if we get the opportunity to meet I think you will enjoy the time spent.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My stories, You might find them interesting or inspiring, or heartbreaking.

Countries I’ve Visited

Barbados, Czech Republic, England, Germany, Hungary, Israel, Mexico, Netherlands, Puerto Rico, Saint Martin (French part), Slovakia, Taiwan, Thailand

Countries I’ve Lived In
