About Me
After living in my home town for a way too long 23 years the travel bug finally got me and never let go. I traveled all across Oz before studying in Sweden for 2 years, then took more time off to see SE Asia.
Now I am back in Germany and working full-time, but I still use all of my holidays to see new places and am fortunate to sometimes travel the world for work. For the next years, the plan is to move abroad again.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Haven't actually surfed or hosted yet unfortunately since I don't have a couch in my small flat. I'm happy to show people around though and offer travel advice for any of the fair few place I've been to.
I only recently started joining CS events and have had a blast so far. All the people I met are incredible and fun so I will try and engage more with the community wherever I go.
Interests
I'm terrible at sticking to something, but I love trying out new things in whatever way. I enjoy expanding my horizons, learning random things, being active and adventurous.
Really it's tough to name something I don't have at least some interest in. I enjoy books, movies, music, games of all kinds, going out, meeting interesting people, modern art, pondering the world, talking science and philosophy, hiking, freeride skiing, diving, the list goes on...
Music, Movies, and Books
I was quite a film geek, watching a Sneak Preview every week, but kinda lost it. Still love weird, unexpected movies that make me think. Or just a good zombie flick. ;)
In terms of music, I've gone from the heaviest of metals and hardcore a few years ago to mostly electronic music today. I especially like Drum&Bass and Dubstep, but I'll dance to anything after a drink or two. Can still mosh when given the opportunity.
I read a lot of non-fiction nowadays, often science or philosophy related. For fictional literature I like sci-fi and utopian/dystopian novels. Recently I read a lot of the Culture novels by Ian M. Banks, which are amazing. I usually don't read just to kill time, so I enjoy books that make me think and challenge my views.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Just one is really tough... probably scuba diving with whales.
