Hi!
I’m Jahaan and I’m from South Africa. I recently completed my medical degree in China - I lived there for 6 years and loved it! I’m living in South Africa now, soon to be moving (somewhere!). I moved to China at the age of 21 and feel l did a lot of growing up there. I learned to speak Mandarin and discovered that I love being in a foreign place and learning about different cultures and exploring new places 🗺 Living in China taught me so much about myself and other people and especially how to be self-reliant, streetwise and how to hustle as a student 😉
I think I could live anywhere in the world, there’s always something to love about a place, culture or people.
I lived alone for the first time at 17 and have been moving around ever since pursuing my studies in medicine and health sciences. I’m now a doctor and hope to move to the UK soon 🇬🇧
I’m a hard-worker, really ambitious, driven and really enjoy good conversation! I love talking to people who are passionate about what they do or what they love or people I can learn from.
I enjoy the arts and culturally-enriching experiences as much as I love the outdoors and the beauty of nature in untouched places. I love good music, and live for the finer things in life - family, friends and making memories.

I love good music. I listen to so many different types that I simply cannot list it. I can never say no to live music, be it a beautiful piano piece or Above & Beyond live at a festival.

I learned to speak Chinese (Mandarin) while living in China, I am not fluent but I’m definitely alright at it 😄
I danced in a travelling circus and modelled on a catwalk in a shopping mall, I’ve been stranded in Shanghai with no money and I’ve jumped out of a 2nd floor window and landed without breaking any bones! These simple things are all amazing to me within context... and there are plenty more.

Enseignez, apprenez, partagez

I’m really interested in yoga and have been doing Bikram yoga for about 2 years. I’ve tried Vinyasa as well and would love to improve my practice and learn other styles. It would be great to meet someone who could share their yoga practice with me!

I used to play the piano and violin when I was younger and have since forgotten how to read music and play those instruments. I’m sure it wouldn’t be too difficult to get back into it but I’d love to meet someone who plays and could help me get back on track with it 🎶🎼

I can make a few South African dishes and a few SA Indian dishes and would love to share cooking tips and recipes with someone who could share a different cuisine. I learned how to cook while living in China with the help of my mum who sent me voicenotes on Whatsapp! Teach me how to make your favourite dish and I’ll teach you how to make mine ❤️

Lastly, I love good conversation. If you prefer, we could just sit and talk about anything and everything!
