About Me

I am proud to believe that I still have the fascination of a scholar, and I need to remember it from time to time when I write. My name is Jair and I'm just finishing medical school at 25 years of age, I should perhaps focus my efforts on finding a job that will boost my future as a specialist .....
... Haha however it is not like that and I find myself here for the moment, static in a limbo with the feeling of being on a staircase in complete darkness trying to discern if it will be prudent to take the next step facing a great uncertainty about my future.

Speaking generically, I mean without so much romanticism, haha I'm single, I practice tennis, jogging and swimming, I love pets, my heart aches every time I have to leave Nala behind, our 3 year old golden retriever.
At the moment my time slips between my work as a professor at the University, my part-time job at a local clinic and studying as a crazy guy since in September I present my exam as an applicant for medical residencies.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

One day I realized that simple things like a photograph or a story about a newspaper clipping, perhaps conversations in a counter or a corner, as well as the aroma of chocolate, a "Thank you" or sincere tears, are the things that matter on a trip, they could make you feel more than any dry page in a book.
It is also then that I made the decision to dedicate my life to everything that I enjoy more than anything else in this world, full of a thousand sunsets, delicious food, laughs and incredible characters with less ink and more steps on the road, those whom assure you that the road less travelled is the best guide to know where to go.....
Besides I love that delicious vacuum that we feel before throwing ourselves towards the unknown knowing that it can be the signal that warns us that something unforgettable is about to happen and it is up to us to climb that rung to the train or to watch as it moves away from the platform.

Interests

I am not only a doctor, I also love to cook almost as much as I love to eat, I'm also excellent at video games, and with the bow, I enjoy the rain on my face and on my window at night, as well as the conversations laying on the grass and under the stars. I consider myself a good teacher and friend as well as a library explorer. Photography is my therapy and more if I run out of sneakers going around the city over and over to capture the very soul of its streets. Recently I started sketching and writing over my last trips, an exercise that I will try to maintain.

- I enjoy learning new recipes from countries I've been, if possible cooking is a great option to spend an afternoon with you
- Sightseeing is a must, I feel specially attracted by architecture but doing it with a local (if possible) would make it beyond special
- Languages were a bit of a hobby when I was younger, so if interested we can both profit of practicing while enoying a snack or a béer or both .

What I Can Share with Hosts

Many laughs, mostly related to stories of me being chase by an ape, a tourguide or a US senior lady with a heavy Gucci fannypack.
There's always space for great conversations after a nice meal, à long walk or a cup of coffee specially at night
I can share with you some shots, I try to bring some pictures on my trips that remind my the important things at home.
I love travelling, and planning it or helping others to do it is a real pleasure
It is a must that I shared a piece of Mexico with my hosts, even if they do not like spicy, you'll enjoy my mexican candies
