Hi!
My name's Jana - Czech for Jane- but I usually go by Jája (pronounced Yaya). I'm nineteen and I'm a journalism student in Prague. I'm extroverted and love meeting new people, discovering new cultures and learning. Learning new things is my passion, whether it's something creative like crocheting, sewing, cooking and baking or something interesting. Me being ever curious is maybe one of the reason I love studying journalism. I'm a huge bookworm and also a philosophy enthusiast. I love adventuring and travelling in general and I always look on the bright side of things.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've always been a person who tries to find alternative solutions to everything, which couchsurfing is to classical travelling. I find that I look back most on the travels where I could meet with locals and form meaningful connections. Also, as a student, I don't want to spend money on hotels, when I can see more places. I like to pack lightly, so I always travel only with my backpack.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Last December, me and my friends went on this really spontaneous trip to Jordan. I got to see Petra and the coral reef in the Red sea, but the most memorable thing would be sleeping under the sky in the desert.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm vegetarian so Czech cuisine is off the table, but I love cooking Italian or i have a few great vegetarian recipes i can share with you.
