Overview
About Me
Hello, people of the world! I'm Jake. People have told me that I'm a kind, generous, and level-headed individual. I like to meet new and interesting people, to hear their stories and connect with their life experience.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm an extremely open-minded person but grew up in a family with very traditional values. We get to live once, and that's it! I'd like to see more of the world before I start focusing on my career path. Simply put--I am on CS to experience interesting cultures and meet great people in the exuberance of my youth~

Music, Movies, and Books
For music, I listen to a wide range of genres: film scores, jazz, classical, alt rock, ambient, post-rock, folk, electronic. All-time favorite artists are Kaki King, Radiohead, Miles Davis, and Brian Eno. Films-- American Beauty, Chungking Express, The Lives of Others, Annie Hall, Mulholland Drive, Rear Window, Living in Oblivion, Blazing Saddles Books-- Notes from Underground, Slaughterhouse 5, Norwegian Wood, 1984, Brave New World, The Anxiety of Influence
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
In high school, I placed in the quarterfinals of an international debate tournament on public policy, hosted by NYU and the Bickel and Brewer law firm.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach guitar, including a unique percussive fingerstyle technique in the style of Kaki King, Michael Hedges, etc. I'd love to learn more phrases in Spanish and Mandarin! I'm a decent chef, PRO vegan life.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I enjoy conversations and irony and occasionally even moments of gooey emotional sincerity. Also--like I said-- premium meals! :)
