About Me
I'm brand new to Couchsurfing, so I'm excited to see where this takes me and who I'll meet.... and whether I'm doing this right.
I'm a twenty-one-year-old aspiring photojournalist from New Zealand. I have been working commercially in NZ, but I'm travelling to Asia to discover new stories and new people. I'm an incredibly easy-going, vegetarian guy who hates to be a bother. I have an incredible passion for breaking news and world politics, so if I find a host who's happy to chat about the world, then I'll be happy.
I want to document the rebuild in Nepal and the progress (or perhaps, lack of) that is being attempted in Kathmandu, following the earthquake. I have lived in Christchurch for my entire life. My aim is to visit Kathmandu and photograph this dramatic epoch that the city is currently in.
Currently, I am based in Christchurch, but the plan is to study in New York City next year (fingers crossed!). I'm also unbelievably rubbish at talking about myself, so I'm suffering through this section immensely.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm on Couchsurfing because I want to meet people on the ground in Kathmandu; there is no better way to understand a country, or a culture than to surround yourself with those who call it home.

Music, Movies, and Books
Favourite TV show: House of Cards (US)
Favourite Book: It's What I Do: a photographer's life of love and war. By Lynsey Addario.
Favourite Music: David Bowie, Radiohead, bit of house music and many others...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I would love to say that I've climbed mountains or photographed dangling from a helicopter, but, sadly, my life isn't quite that exciting. I opened an exhibition upon my last return from NYC, which was a bundle of fun.
Teach, Learn, Share
I hope to learn more about life in Kathmandu and the changing face of a country recovering from an enormous tragedy. If I'm so privileged to find a host who will simply show me around for a day or two and introduce me to charities, or rebuild projects in Kathmandu, then I'll be forever grateful. I want to fix my lens on, and volunteer with, charities/projects that are working to return normality to Kathmandu.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Hopefully, I can share my passion for the medium of visual journalism, a few laughs and, perhaps, a small amount of English.
