Not very well travelled, looking to change that. I play with some local bands around Oakland, work in tech stuff. I have two cats I raised from a week old, and I'll miss them most while I'm away. I like to keep self-description terse, and I'll try my best not to shed hair all over your house...

Music, Movies, and Books

There's not much music I don't like, some of my favorites: Györgi Ligeti, Bela Fleck, XTC, but that's just kind of a random sampling.
I like long, dull, old movies like Bridge on the River Kwai, The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (Ennio Morricone is another music favorite); lots of others, original Star Wars trilogy, older James Bond movies.
Lots of books too, but one stands out: Teddy Roosevelt's autobiography of his time with the Rough Riders; a fascinating account of one man just having a terrific time in the middle of a horrifying war.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Took a class on medieval Latin paleography, got to hold and study a manuscript from before the black death.

I can teach music, general theory stuff or instruments, mostly drums, piano, guitar; interested in learning new ones. Also hoping to learn at least a bit of other languages I come in contact with.
