About Me

Hello,
My name is Jacob Nolan and I am 26 yrs young and growing. I seek adventures through all things I do. Life to me is one big adventure, though sometimes the excitement may slow, the opportunity for new experiences never does.

I grew up in North Houston TX, in the suburbs called Kingwood, TX. I grew up in TX but my family on my moms side lived in Oklahoma, so when my parents split my mother moved back to OK, and I stayed in Houston at the UniversityofHouston where I was attending college at that time.

I went through the loss of my father to his Diabetes, and 2 years later my fiance and I lost our son Aleczander to an extreme rarity birth defect, he only lived 48hrs. we never even got to take him home from the hospital. I only tell you guys this about me so that you will see that I AM REAL and I know what it is to struggle and sacrifice. I am looking for a fresh start in a new place, I hope to put both of my college degrees to good use here in the BAY AREA, and I CHOSE HERE because it is so FAST PACED that I wont get bored or feel unfulfilled by any means.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have "couch surfed" with friends while traveling during the summers, and one of those same friends suggested that I give this website a shot because it would be perfect given my current situation.(explained a little below and in aboutME)

He told me that he found great success on this website and that it truly helped him through massive amounts of bad luck while traveling.

I relocated to San Jose California on 5/6/15 and I STILL have no place that I can rent permanently, so I have been bouncing from hotel to bed and breakfast etc. which has made it more difficult for me rather than less difficult because I have been having to worry about finding room to sleep every other night.

I am in LOVE with traveling and having adventures. I love the idea of couchsurfing because I know that it can be TOO EXPENSIVE for us all to pay for hotels all the time, why not offer someone my guest room, or my couch? I am sure they prefer that to sleeping in their car, and I have no problem offering you a bed if you are trustworthy because I have been in that same situation where I had to sleep in my car and I JUST WISHED SOMEONE WOULD BE KIND ENOUGH TO HOST ME FOR THE NIGHT.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was 16 I got to spend 1-month of my summer vacation with my best friend traveling abroad in spain, and we got to ride the train into London as well. I got to experience such vibrant culture, one awesome thing in spain is that the entire country shuts down from noon till 1pm for a "SIESTA," which means "NAP"; they do this to avoid the heat of the hottest time of the day.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am willing to share any of my work skills with my hosts, I can design your business cards and or anything else including websites.

I can CLEAN, do DISHES, FLOORS, WINDOWS, DUSTING...ETC! I have no problem working to help make my hosts life easier in any way that I can.

I also have some $$ to compensate my host!

I have an $500 grocery gift card and I would be happy to help by also BUYING GROCERIES FOR THE HOUSE.
