Overview
About Me
Hi Couch Surfers! I'm sorry for not being able to host at the moment. I am in the process of finding a bigger home to move to and will be unable to help until this fall.
CURRENT MISSION
I love learning. It is because of that fact that I take every opportunity to immerse myself in many things; such as cultural exchange, art and music to list a few. I'm tired of the orninary and familiar. Lets get to it!
ABOUT ME
I'm filling this out on my iPhone as I ride the train home from work..so it might be a little rough. Well here it goes...my name is Jaken (weird right?) and I'm a 27 yr old Native American (Zuni/Navajo) from New Mexico. I moved to Tempe in 2006 to attend university at Arizona State; and after graduating I now work for a facility that specializes in clinical trials geared towards translational medicine. It's a pretty cool place to meet different ppl from many walks of life. I am very social. My friends joke that everywhere I go I always end up making some sort of connection. :) I'm more on the laid back side of life. I enjoy both staying in and going out. Usually made from things I pick up when I'm out exploring the city. In a living situation I tend to be the one who loves to cook and clean. Entertaining is a hobby of mine. :)
If I'm not at home after work or on the weekends you can find me at the farmers market, hiking the surrounding mountains, running, or shopping. :) I am also gay, which i hope you are ok with. If you want to know more just shoot me a mssg. I'm also thinking about posting a video biography soon just so you can get an idea of just who I am..but that wont be for a while. Ill keep you posted. In the mean time happy travels and if you need a place to stay, my couch is almost always open! Best, JS
PHILOSOPHY
We are trained to fear things we do not know anything about..when we throw that fear away anything is possible.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'm pretty much up for anything.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Unfortunately I don't have any experience with Couchsurfing yet but I am earger to get started. Soon ill be a pro. :D
Interests
Creative minds and souls! I do pretty much a little bit of everything. I love cooking, drawing, painting, having friends over for drinks and food. I do enjoy sports; especially american football! I am in a running club called the Phoenix frontrunners. I hope to run my first marathon soon. When I can I try hanging out with friends at music shows and cultural events. I'm a bookworm! Lol. On lunch I usually go to the public library to pick up a new book to read while I travel to work every morning. My roommate and I usually find odd things to do on the weekend whether it be checking out a new bar or karaoking with perfect strangers. I have many interests...it just depends what's going on at the moment. I'm a go with the flow kinda guy.

Music, Movies, and Books
Comedy, horror!!! Some action. The fifth element is my favorite movie! Music is another story...I love almost everything except screamo. Lol. Lounge, dance, house, rap, r&b, pop, glam, disco, country, indie, rock, etc. I am currently reading rant by chuck p. and a nonfiction book on the history of poisons...yea I know..weird. But they looked interesting so I picked them up. Lol
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
When I was a kid on the reservation I watched from my house as a ball of light rose from the bottom of a valley to the top of a Mesa nearby. It's still the one thing I cannot explain..
Teach, Learn, Share
Be genuine and you'll go far...but flattery doesn't hurt either
