About Me

ABOUT ME

"Wow...what have I to say about Prof.Endelweber?Or Litle Jakob?

They are certanly two sides of the same shiny golden coin.Prof.Endelweber is an intelectual, serious and sober grown up man, very hospitable and welcoming, who likes to play his piano with a melancholic look, ponderates every decision and chooses the wisest, knows Latin and Portuguese and talks nervously about a million random facts about it, although quite sure about them...On the other side, Litle Jakob is an absolutely MAD MAN,an adventurous, guided by instincts,a true friend, goes hitchhiking to Prague with his guest in the morning just like that, Owns at rock-papper-scissor and is up for anything!

When the coin is spinning in the air and stops in the moment just like in space, I dont know what face will come out on top when it goes down..."

Reference by João Miranda, coolest cs ever!

I've to admit that this is quite a good description. I'm always trying to gather as much information as possible, I'm interested in a lot of things, trying to get a better understanding of the world. where do we come from? where does our culture have its seeds? how did languages developp?
I started to study electrical engineering to get a better understanding of our modern technologized world, but I'm still orientating myself (i take history classes as well).
That's my intellectual site, besides that I like making music (I play the piano and the cello), sports (cycling in special), having a good time, a party, get to know new people (i'm very open-minded), travelling, dreaming etc etc. Another hobby is cooking, I really like to experimentate and create some new compositions :-) usually they're good^^

PHILOSOPHY

"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover."
- Mark Twain - my current favorite quotation :-)

I love playing the piano and I'm trying hard to learn play some musics by Isaac Albéniz (Asturias, Tango, Sevilla, ..), a spanish composer of romanticism. I also like to play some Mozart and Chopin.

good music which makes me happy. world. classical. ska. some charts. reggae. i'm still developping my taste in music. two bands / musicians i like:
Manu Chao, Babylon Circus (french ska-reggae)

funny movies, good movies, alternative movies, i don't like the bloody ones and typical hollywood can sometimes get boring. Series: The Simpsons, I've even some Duff Beer at home :-)

Among other literature:
Herodotus and books about him! He isn't just the father of historiography, he's also the father of us couchsurfers! He travelled the world 2500 years ago and gives us an important picture of the Ancient and its peoples. Best book about him:
"Meine Reisen mit Herodot"
Unfortunately it hasn't been translated into English yet, but the Polish orginal:
"Podroze z Herodotem" by Ryszard Kapuściński.
