About Me

Hi I’m Jakub, but my friends call me Kuba. I’m Senior IT Support Technician, but soon I will be full time WWOOFer/Traveller. Originally from Poland but I moved (couple times) to London, I just cannot decide where to be. I like to laugh, well a lot, with everyone, about everything, it is actually really hard to find me in “serious” mood – of course if I really have to I can be serious, but it is so boring. I hate boring things, after working in cubical for long time starring on PC all day long it is not surprise. I like to move, do something, and go somewhere. All my friends know that I’m kind of person who always (almost always) say yes to meet, for a trip, to help. I apparently have really good organisation skills, usually moving to different country or organising 2 weeks trip takes me 1-2 days :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Well out of interest that for first.
Second? I think this is the easiest and the fastest way to find people with similar interests – travelling. Also I think it is better way to travel, live like locals, and see usual places not tourist’s dens. Finally I rather bring something nice to private person or share a meal with him/her instead of paying for hotel.

Interests

City Cycling – I love it. There is nothing better than take your “fixie” in the morning and just go around city stopping from time to time for coffee, or some meal.
Rock Climbing – indoor or outdoor it is great way to spend some time with your friends. Usually bouldering, sometimes rope climbing
Jogging – I’m not very experience but I already managed to pull my Achilles tendon so at the moment it is like 10min a day of jogging.
Travelling – obviously, otherwise why I would be here?
Nature – I’m more like “let’s go for hiking” then “let’s go to the cinema”. I don’t mind going to any places but if I have a choice I would rather lay on grass then sit on chair
Everything else – I’m quite open minded person and as pure empiric I always say that I want to try something new (doesn’t matter if it is knitting, paint ball, of zip lining) to see if I actually enjoy it or not :)

Music, Movies, and Books

Music? I'm pretty eclectic and have no problems jumping from DJ Shadow through Sepultura, Gogol Bordello, Moby, and finishing around country blues or electric swing :)
Books? I used to read a lot of Sci-Fci books (Ender's Series i think is top 10), and lots of travel books. Now I don’t really have time to read that much, from time to time I just read about travels or old classics
Movies? I don’t really have specify type but some of my favourite’s movies: “Fifth Element” by Luc Besson, “The Secret Life of Walter Mitty” by Ben Stiller, “Whatever Works” by Woody Allen, “World War Z” by Marc Foster.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

There are two things i'm really proud of actually:
Organise within 24h blood donation in company for my friend ill child (i got help by many wonderfull people). we got over 10liters of blood.
Workinf as volunteer in Animal shelter - this was i think the best experience i got so far, sad sometimes, but truly amazing how animals can give you back what you gave them

Teach, Learn, Share

I can share:
Information Technology skills (weird but well I'm working as IT at the moment so I'm happy to share this with anyone who wants it)
Bike repairs - i build my bicycle 10 years ago, have lots of experience in cycling (city cycling) and fixing bicycles.
Cooking – I have some knowledge about it and knows some of traditional Polish dishes. Will be more than happy to make them from local ingredients (it is actually quite interesting)
Obviously Polish and English language (if someone is crazy enough to try to learn Polish haha)
Good conversation – about anything really,

I want to learn:
Languages that for first.
I’m really empiric person so there is just few things in the world I’m not willing to try

What I Can Share with Hosts
