I am a Canadian living in Edinburgh, Scotland. I am trying to take full advantage of living in beautiful Scotland to do as much hiking, castle-hopping and beer-tasting as humanly possible.

Many of my most memorable travel experiences have been thanks to CS. Highlights include waterfall zip-lining in Mexico, skiing in Whistler and home-cooked pasta in Rome. It is such a privilege to share insight into another culture by staying in someone's home and I am always awed at how generous and welcoming this community is. I am in still in touch with many friends whom I have hosted/have hosted me.

My hobbies and interests include reading, hiking, water polo and all food and drinking related activities.

Of course it goes without saying that I love travelling! My current travel goal is to visit all of the EU countries, I am currently sitting at 23/28 (still need to visit Luxembourg, Romania, Bulgaria, Slovakia and Cyprus).

Reading is my top pastime, I love discussing/lending/borrowing books. It's so hard to pick favourites but I always come back to How Should A Person Be by Sheila Heti.

Favourite movies include: The Lives of Others, Blue is the Warmest Colour, Wind River

Music: Favourite Canadian act at the moment in Dan Mangan, but I'll listen to pretty much anything. Love to discover local music, especially if it's live!

One of my best memories is seeing the Northern Lights in my hometown, Calgary.

Many moons ago I was a tour guide in Vancouver so I'm happy to share lots of tips about what to see/do/eat there. I have also lived in Calgary, Maastricht, Ottawa and Edinburgh and have lots of tips to share about each of these lovely locations if you're on your way any time soon.

Languages: I speak English and French fluently and Spanish at an intermediate level if anyone wants to help me practice!
