Overview
About Me
My first love and career was in IT Consultancy, but I have always had an interest in applying my IT skills to a field of work where I can actually make a difference to people’s lives too. Now I run a small private medical practice in Norwich. The best of many worlds!
I worked in Internet Infrastructure Engineering for a period in Luxembourg, and spent nearly 10 years in China, Thailand, and India studying Martial Arts, teaching Scuba Diving and practising Yoga intensively. I volunteered as a medic at Mother Theresa’s in Calcutta, and was subsequently inspired to study Biomedical Sciences and Nursing back in the UK. In 2010 I joined the Army Reserve as a combat medic.
My day job is as Practice Manager at BxClinic, a lower limb biomechanics clinic in Norwich. We believe our patients’ care and welfare should always be at the forefront of our decision making. My day to day duties are concerned with operational and financial assessment and improvement, re-engineering processes and procedures to prepare for growth, strategic business planning and marketing, and building for the day when we are able to offer the same service to NHS patients.
Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my wife Ania, whom I met in Thailand -
and we are both teachers of yoga and meditation. I'm also a volunteer blood biker for SERV Norfolk.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Hotels are expensive, and although I like a bit of luxury as much as the next person, there's a disconnectedness and isolation that comes from being in that stream. It's impersonal.
Seeing "strangers in my house" in a different way, as a way to connect and learn about people, what's important to them, and to understand and challenge my own preconceived ideas is a good thing. And meeting new people when I travel, learning about the area and what's important to them, is a rare and precious gift.
I'm on Coachsurfing to get to know some of the amazing people on this planet - people I would doubtless miss the opportunity of talking to if it weren't for this.

Music, Movies, and Books
I'm currently reading Sadhguru's "Inner Engineering" and recently finished "The Untethered Soul". I like books that inspire my soul and push me to improve.
When it comes to films, I like rubbish! Hollywood Action! But I also love watching Sadhguru, Ram Das, and Eckhard Tolle!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Studied Martial Arts in China, which initially involved standing motionless for 14 hours a day.
