Hello everybody! My name is James and I'm currently a Peace Corps volunteer in Ukraine! I’m originally from Florida where I was a high school teacher last year. I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in History in May 2018.

Just a little bit more about me, in my spare time, I like to read in my hammock, play board games, running, hiking whenever I get the chance, swim at the beach, and grab a drink out one of our bars here!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I would say I'm here for the same reasons a lot of other people are. It's more personal than staying in a moldy motel and you can gain experience with the locals!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Camped for 3 days in the Grand Canyon with a group of students from my school over Spring Break. Not only was it an amazing experience to be able to hike through the Grand Canyon but also meet some amazing people I would have never met if I didn't sign up for the trip.

Took a spontaneous two week road trip from Orlando, FL to Portland, Maine with my roommate. We stopped in every major city along the way, was able to visit one of my best friends from Norway who was in DC at the time, and it was also the first time I had ever used couchsurfing!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you awesome ultimate frisbee skills and guitar well enough to impress your friends. And since I'm from Florida, I can show you how to properly take down an alligator...just kidding!

I like learning about different languages, cultures and religions, and also new recipes would be really fun!
