Recently finished my third year studying physics at university in the UK. Now in Germany on a research internship searching for pulsars and using the weekends to make the most of this wonderful country. I'll never have a summer this long again!

Friends back home have told me about some of the great experiences they've had on here and now I'm in Germany for a while I thought I'd get involved too. During the week I'm a research student, doing everything I can to save enough of my living stipend to travel on the weekends. If I can see great places, while meeting and living with wonderful new people then what's not to love?

Centres d'intérêt

Big tennis fan, both playing and watching, but I'll enjoy pretty much anything sportswise (unless it's really tough on knees, I've destroyed mine). Road cycling is a recent discovery which I absolutely love and I'm trying to get a European cycling tour sorted for next summer. Also a Formula 1 fanatic.

I enjoy cooking vegetarian food and frustrating my family with the amount of washing up I generate in the process - washing up that I'm very willing to do when I'm living elsewhere though, so don't worry!

Morceaux de musique, films et livres

Taste in music is varied to say the least and "odd" according to most of my friends, I'm talking Philter through to DragonForce and everything in between. Like the majority of pop too, so no real favourite genre nor band. Used to play the violin and enjoy listening to classical music every now and then.
Love the Harry Potter series which effectively ruined my childhood for books because I just kept rereading them. Never really branched out since then, prefer to get out and whack a tennis ball. Same for movies, but I enjoy the occasional film and never too fussed what it is.

Enseignez, apprenez, partagez

I enjoy cooking so would love to learn about local (or the host's personal) specialities and techniques. Anything more specific I think would be far too restrictive, hopeful to learn about almost anything by being part of this.

I have worked as a tennis coach and could give tips - provided you're not already too good of course ;) Aside from that I love engaging with questions about the Universe, both philosophical and otherwise and seeing where my physics education fits in with the discussion.
