I'm a 24 year old U.S. Coast Guard officer currently deployed to Manama, Bahrain. I've been in the Coast Guard for 6 years and graduated from the Coast Guard Academy in Connecticut.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've been given the opportunity to take an extended vacation to New Zealand, and I've created a CouchSurfing profile so I can meet people and learn the local area with people who live there. I can't wait to see what the world has to offer, and I want to learn from the people who know it the best- the locals!

I'm interested in outdoor sports, especially Tennis, Soccer, and Golf. I love spending time with friends and going out on the town. I'm currently studying the LSAT with the goal of one day becoming a lawyer.

I'm a huge fan of Dan Brown, John Grisham, and murder mysteries. I like modern music and country.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I ran a marathon in 2009 in 3:34:43, an average page of 8:04. I trained for weeks, and it was one of my proudest moments. I'm a big runner and really into fitness and working out. I'm currently training for shorter distance runs and I've been spending more time in the gym.

I'm interested in learning how to cook, other people's perspectives on politics, religion, and life in general. I'm very patient, and would love to share my perspective on American culture and I'd love to hear about local history, art, and tradition.
