About Me

Myself and 2 friends are hitchhiking from Sheffield, United Kingdom to Riga, Latvia for charity.

We are doing this hike in association with the University of Sheffield to raise money for the following charities:
Neurocare- their main objective is to buy equipment and support research to save and improve lives of patients with a range of debilitating or fatal neurological conditions.
St Wilfred's Centre-A day centre for vulnerable, homeless and socially-excluded adults in Sheffield. A range of groups, activities and workshops are offered at the centre, and they have recently built a block of 20 flats where people who have experienced homelessness can live for up to 2 years, while getting support on how to live fulfilling independent lives when they move on.
Femme International- Femme provides essential menstrual health education, and the provision of reusable sanitary products for women and girls in East Africa, filling an essential gap in women's health.
YWCA Yorkshire- they provide supported accommodation to young teenage parents and young girls who are pregnant and who have been subjected to domestic and sexual violence, as well as offering support for disadvantaged families.
The Sheffield Steelers Wheelchair Basketball Club- One of the biggest wheelchair basketball clubs in the UK, with members from age 12 to 50+. Over the years, the club has nurtured many current and former Paralympians but also provides sporting opportunities for disabled people at a recreational level too.
