About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Survive shipping too many games at once.

ABOUT ME

I'm a game designer and laid back raging extrovert :) Love to travel and do so at every opportunity. I pack my camera everywhere acting on the theory of Quality through Quantity. Fill a 16GB memory card in a couple of days? No problem. Getting out dancing is high on my list of priorities, nothing like a good dubstep night to shake all the kinks out.

I'll try almost anything once and if your computer is busted I can probably fix it.

PHILOSOPHY

Being friendly has rarely backfired, so I'll keep doing it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Just getting started on CS, having admired it from afar for some time. While I don't have a couch available for surfing at the moment, I hope to change that before too long.

Music, Movies, and Books

Big fan of classic sci-fi from Herbert, Asimov, and Clarke. Now into the modern craziness of Charles Stross and the like. Warren Ellis is often excellent in written work. Non-fiction: Hunter S. Thompson and Greg Palast are well worth reading, different ways of seeing the truth of the world.

Musically almost anything goes, but I'm a big dubstep, drum 'n bass, and breakbeats head. Benga, Distance, Pinch, Skream, Kode9, The Bug, Adam Freeland, Alex Metric, Evil 9, Bonobo, Boxcutter, Concord Dawn. (This'll be a stupidly long list, I'll stop.)

Movies I'm all over the map with, but go see District 9. In Bruges will make you laugh and wince in equal measure, often at the same time. FLCL, Cowboy Bebop, and Samurai Champloo are great for very different reasons.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Flew a Cessna 172 over the Comox Glacier on Vancouver Island. What a view!

Teach, Learn, Share

-PC repair (If it's a Windows box and it's not on fire, I can probably fix it.)
-Game design (lectured about this and made it my life and work)
-Photography (can teach the basics of exposure and the like, but much happier just to go for a walk together and shoot a bunch)
