Hello everybody, we are James and Courtney and we are travel addicts. We live in Auckland, New Zealand (no we aren't Hobbits!) . Courtney works as a pharmacist and I (James) am an electrician. We have a passion for food - eating and cooking alike, sports - James is a canoe polo player, and in general immersing ourselves in wildlife, culture, art, books and photography. We are a fun loving, adventure- seeking couple looking forward to making friends with people from all over the world!

After catching the travel bug we have decided to quit our jobs, sell our junk and buy one way tickets north! Courtney grew up in South Africa so that's our first stop. We both love animals so a major part of this stop will be spent in Kruger park, we can't wait. Photography has become a favorite hobby and what better excuse for buying a new camera than travel! We would love to share our favorite snapshots. After South Africa we plan to make our way north from Croatia overland to the Netherlands where we intend to base ourselves for the following year. It is really important to us to base ourselves somewhere with a different culture and language than we were brought up with as this trip is as much to us about experiencing foreign cultures, ideas and lifestyles as it is about seeing the amazing sights and activities. We are on couch surfing so we can learn from and share our collective travel experience and stories with others .

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

Through my local scout group I (James) practiced and trained for a 100m abseil into Mangapu cave, Waitomo, NZ. The river at the bottom looked like a tiny trickle of water between my legs as I lent out and attached on to the rope. Once everyone had reached the bottom came the real test, frog hopping with ascenders all the way back up the rope!
