I am an architect and visual artist currently living in LA. I was born in China, grew up in San Francisco Bay Area, have lived (short term) in Copenhagen, Boston, Amsterdam, and Paris over the years.

Long story short, I was lucky enough to win a traveling fellowship, which means I will be embarking on an extended 6 month trip from April to October this year.

I'll be studying exceptional built structures historic and new, and the process of how / and reasons why buildings become obsolete. (A little more about the project: http://archinect.com/lian/useless-architectures-interview-with-2013-som-prize-winner-james-leng)

My goal is to meet great people along the way, and hopefully locals who are knowledgeable about their own cities - so I may learn about the city's history and future through their insider eyes, over great food and drinks of course.
