About Me

Hello there everyone!

I've been on Couchsurfing like for years but then again never really used some of it's perks especially for travelers like me.

I'm James and currently an English Teacher in a private language school based in Rome. I've been in this city for 10 years and also got the luck to become an Italian citizen after years of living here. Travelling and knowing different cultures is my passion and every time I travel, I always go on a local vibe one after a touristy one and I think Couchsurfing would be a great platform for me to know different people on the places I travel to especially their culture and day to day lives.

I would probably say that I am an extremely friendly person and I like listenning to other people ( maybe this is also why I became a teacher) . It helps me to be more open about different perspectives not just only in travelling and cultures but also life in general. I always want to engage in deep and meaningful conversations.

I'm originally from the Philippines and before you ask where; I'm from the northern part which is nestled between mountains and fields (so not that typical island beach spots that are popular now). I arrived in Italy since 2016 and from that time, I started travelling solo around Europe and visited 12 countries and counting. Meet a lot of travelers but then never used this platform. I hope that I can give it a try especially couchsurfing to someone's place.

Aside from travelling, I also have a lot of hobbies and varied interests such as cooking (I'm an excellent cook!) hiking, swimming, learning languages, visiting museums, history, music, TV and theatre (especially musicals). I am also keen into some sports like basketball, trekking, swimming, gym and badminton

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies as long as they're feel good ones
Books more into non fictional and travelling
Music mostly 90's and early 2000's music (millenial things)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Interrailing around Europe and also solo travelling back to the Philippines where I kept it as a secret and no one in my family or friends knew I was there and it was just me and the undiscovered gems of my country

Teach, Learn, Share

As a host, I can take you with an unforgettable walk tour around the city from the popular ones to the hidden gems. I can also give you a local vibe tour of different food spots especially Roman and Italian cuisine is the best but not emptying your wallet.

What I Can Share with Hosts

It would be my experiences of travelling and also sharing good food to eat as I am an excellent cook. Also long deep conversations.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Czech Republic, England, France, Italy, Philippines, Scotland, Slovakia, Spain, Switzerland, United Kingdom

Countries I’ve Lived In
