About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To make the most of my meat body whilst I have it.

ABOUT ME

I'm from Stafford in central England. I'm told it's a pretty part of the country - something I perhaps take for granted having grown up here.

I like to drink my tea in a glass rather than a mug. I like the smell after its rained. I like pushing the boundaries of possible toast toppings.

I consider my day successful if I share laughter with someone. I love being outside in nature and sleeping out under the stars - though I (and perhaps most of us)don't do this often enough. I prefer to "do" rather than watch others. I love to try new things. I'm fascinated by new people and new perspectives - anything that helps me see the world, and myself, with fresh eyes.

I like being outside and I continue to cultivate a lifestyle that allows for as much outdoor time as possible.

PHILOSOPHY

Go first

Slow down. Breathe. Be grateful.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I hosted a little when I first got involved. Then during my bicycle tour of Europe of the Middle East I got more heavily involved, going to meetings and surfing.

These days I find myself in a house with ample room for travellers, and so I offer a couch/bed to any and all who are in need. I received incredible kindness during my travels, it's a pleasure to give something back.

That, and I just try to spread the good word whenever I can...

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I hosted once just before leaving England to go travelling - I figured it would help my CS karma. I found showing someone around my local area gave me a new perspective on my hometown.

I'm now back after a year on the road. I had so many great CS experiences I've lost count. I've met so many wonderful people: at the meetings, for coffee and surfing.

So now I do my bit hosting whenever I get the chance.

Interests

Love music, playing or listening. I play guitar in a band, some covers some original stuff. In recently years I've also picked up the bass and keyboards. Travel. I like a good chat, preferably in a good sturdy pub, preferably with a nice quaffable ale. Hiking, biking, getting lost in the woods. Sailing, soirees and frisbee!

I read most days. And spend a lot of time listening to podcasts and audio books.

Sustainable living. Eco constuction. Permaculture.

Coffee - gets it's own paragraph!

I'm interested in health, exercise and movement. Weightlifting. Yoga. I currently follow a Paleo/primal diet. I've been veggie and vegan in the past. I am happy to try and work around your eating requirements. I like experimental cooking - raw/vegan/veggie/paleo/primal. I am partial to some baking (despite not eating grains).

Slacklining. I'm not much good, but I hope to be one day. It's just another excuse to be outside really!

Also I'm big into bicycles. There is usually a few built up in my garage, you are welcome to borrow one for sightseeing.
