Where to begin... Currently I live in Glasgow where I am finishing my studies, but having been brought up in a remote coastal village I have always had a great fondness for exploring the beauty of nature.

Since spending a year on Erasmus in Lyon, France, I have become an avid traveller of late (as I'm sure most couchsurfers are). I tend to be optimistic, always friendly... Hopefully the next few boxes will explain the rest :)

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

I couchsurfed for the first time in May 2014 with a close friend, on their recommendation. Prior to this I wasn't so familiar with the community, but having had such a fantastic experience I am looking forward to getting to know more like-minded couchsurfers.

兴趣

Aside from travelling (seems the obvious one to put here?), I'm into plenty of sports. Notably I do a lot of hiking and am fond of cycling, swimming, running...

I love baking desserts when I have time (who doesn't enjoy a good cake!)

I also enjoy a good whisky and recently organised a few Scottish food and whisky tasting events for international students at my university.

But more than anything I enjoy being in good company. Whether that be family, old friends or new acquaintances. There's nothing better :)

音乐、电影和书籍

Music is a joy of life. Some favourite live acts from the past year have been Fleetwood Mac, Bastille, Coldplay, Skindred and Calvin Harris (all fantastic shows).

Movie-wise I enjoy almost anything but am partial to action / comedy. Pixar also deserves a mention. I really enjoy stand-up comedians too: Kevin Bridges, Dylan Moran and Bill Bailey to name a few.

My two favourite books are The Hobbit and The Hitchhiker's Guide (maybe a little predictable, but that's surely a sign of how good they are!)

Only one... Well recently I visited the Sahara desert where I got to ride camels at sunrise - that was quite something!

In the past I have taught kids to swim, tutored maths and participated in French / English tandem lessons. The idea of a tandem lesson is to pair up two native speakers of different languages to hang out, speaking for half the time in each language.

If none of that interests you, I can teach you some Scottish dialect which is always a bit of fun!
