About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To get out of bed before 8am.

I'm also going to Spain this year to learn how to grow organic fruits and vegetables and hopefully get fluent in Spanish 😁.

ABOUT ME

Born and raised in Melbourne. I love learning, books, music, art and nature - especially mountains and forests. I generally follow a diet which I guess you could call 'Jain veganism' for ethical reasons (which you can read about here if you're curious or even want to give it a try! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jain_vegetarianism) and am also somewhat of an effective altruist.

PHILOSOPHY

Embrace your fears. Life's too short not to.

Seek understanding, not judgement. Everyone has their own story no matter the nationality, race, gender, orientation, religion or age.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to get to know locals, find out about the hidden gems, exchange cultural knowledge and share awesome experiences with great people. I also want to give back to this wonderful community that's given me so much.

Interests

After travelling quite a bit, I'm now pretty happy living a chill life. I enjoy going to museums or the park when it's sunny and I enjoy a good conversation over tea/water. I still also love exploring the world trying to understand all the different cultures, music, good food, nature, all forms of art, dancing and meditation.

Right now I'm really interested in following my intellectual curiosity and so I spend most of my time reading and learning about all kinds of different topics. I'm especially interested in spirituality and sustainable and compassionate living.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love all types of music apart from country. I've got about 20 different Spotify playlists covering anything from Middle Eastern funk to classical to old school hip hop to Rammstein. I would rather die than live without music!!

My favourite music to dance to is psytrance. Techno is great too of course.

Movies: Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Mad Max: Fury Road, In The Mood For Love, Leon The Professional, Snatch. I also enjoy Sergio Leone and Richard Linklater's films.

Books: I Am David, The Stranger, One Hundred Years of Solitude

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I climbed a mountain in Bolivia that was over 6000m high. I was so tired I barely remember going to the summit, but it was still worth it.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am willing to learn about anything and everything! I can teach some basic meditation. At the moment I am studying Spanish and Zen Buddhism. I'd like to be a meditation teacher one day 😊.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I have lots of stories and tips to share from my travels and of course about Australia :) I can also share a lot of amazing music and teach English.

If you like philosophy then we can surely have some great conversations about big questions and if you are okay with eating 'Jain vegan' food then I would be happy to try and whip up a dish for you as well!
