About Me
Constantly in search of the next adventure!
I come from a small forestry town in Northern BC, Canada but I love to travel and explore the world. One of my favourite aspects of travelling is always the people that I meet, and the memories that we get to share together that will last a lifetime. I particularly enjoy travelling solo as I feel this is the best way to really find yourself, to learn about your own core, and to develop into a person that I would be proud of. I enjoy the challenges of travel, the way that it can push you and encourage you to explore things that you would not find back at home - especially cuisine.
Coming from a small town in Canada, I grew up around people with very limiting beliefs, and I question those beliefs at all times - I believe in the inherent goodness of people; no matter where you are from, I believe that you have a good heart and care about your fellow world citizens. The community I have found amongst CS reinforces this image of the world. Kindness begets kindness; and I aim to be kind and generous in all interactions with those around me.
Some of my Couchsurfing experience:
- first encounter was a meet up for the Sziget Festival in Budapest; a large group of us got together to camp and enjoy the festival
- hosted a couple of CSers in my home in Vancouver
- hosted a couple of CSing meet ups in Vancouver to bring that travel-esque feeling to my day-to-day life
- many meetups throughout my travels that I am always grateful for. Some of these are: meeting a police officer for Paella in Valencia, enjoying meals with a local in Malacca, meeting two boys in Singapore for a night of beers and good conversation, and many more (and many more to come!)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To create experiences and meet new friends from all over the world; to share experiences and memories that go deeper than the superficial hostel dorm room camaraderie.

Music, Movies, and Books
🎵: I enjoy most music, but these are my most played: JJ Cale, Zach Bryan, Olivia Dean, the Arkells, the Tragically Hip... but I am open to all music from anywhere and love to see what the Top 100 is in every country that I visit.
📚: science fiction, self-help, history, biography; currently reading "Freedom" by Jonathan Franzen. I like books that make you think about the world around you, whether that comes from a science fiction angle, a historical angle, or someone's lived experience...
🎥: Fullmetal Alchemist, GoodFellas, the Heat (to name a few). I love cinema and cinematography and would love to experience your favourite film together.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Experienced bioluminescence during a night dive in Bocas Del Toro; watched the Northern Lights dance in Northern Canada; experienced temperature lows of -45C and temperature highs of +45C; worked as a tour guide on a luxury train in the Canadian Rocky Mountains.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can help to practice English in a non-judgemental and supportive way.
I’d love to learn new languages or a favourite recipe. I am always interested in learning about new music or any sort of history, and I love trying local cuisine!
I can share a lot of history about Canada, something I am passionate about; as well as being a certified cook with lots of skill and knowledge in the kitchen. We can make something tasty together!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share cooking skills, a positive attitude and good conversation. I’d love to pick up a bottle of wine and have a chat.
