My life changing experience brought me to the Art of painting on Silk. Upon graduating from Ohio State University, in 1966. I spent three years as a US Peace Corps volunteer in the Philippines. Afterwards, I went to Java and studied Batik under Indonesia’s Master Batik Artist Bambang Oetoro. Now, 35 years later, I am preparing a major exhibition of Orchid paintings on silk in my studio in Sarasota, Florida. I can remember the young person that sat down to study Batik in Indonesia. Today, I still feel the same creative spirit.
