About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Try everything!

ABOUT ME

I don't take myself too seriously and neither should you. I have too many interests for my own good (traveling is obviously one of them.) I believe in equality, sincerity, and general kindness, though I'll never turn down a little snarkiness and I take my humor dry. I'm an actress at heart, though not by trade, and I also love to sing. I'll challenge you to a karaoke duel any day of the week. Think you can handle that?

PHILOSOPHY

You have complete free will, use it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I host CSers and traveling bands that come through my city!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I hosted an awesome person who was riding his bike around the States, then (after taking a very long hiatus) another one came into my life and I hosted him. Both were excellent experiences and I found out that I enjoy my city the most when I am sharing it with somebody else. I've also let a few touring bands crash at my place and had a blast. I can't host at the moment, but am looking forward to hosting again when I have a space to. I'm also ready to start surfing other people's couches!

Interests

First, the usual suspects: music, film, theater, art, reading. I'm making my first foray into the world of baking and loving it! I'm more than a little obsessed with tea(and perhaps will one day open my own shop/cafe.)

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: I'll pretty much watch anything by Wes Anderson, Hirokazu Koreeda, Kim Ki Duk, or Wong Kar Wai. I like a select few French New Wave films and I can always settle down with a good documntary. Also a big fan of long shots and sparse dialogue. Current favorite is The Taste of Tea.

Music: Fela Kuti, The Books, Family Fodder, Animal Collective, Shugo Tokumaru, The Kinks, Lilys, Bob Dylan, Os Mutantes, The Ruby Suns, Broadcast, Pavement, Stereolab, Atlas Sound, Neil Young, and much more..

Books: Anything by Haruki Murakami. Short stories by Miranda July. I don't read much fiction, I'm more into non fiction and theater scripts. I recently finished reading Factory Girls: From Village to City in a Changing China.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The throngs of people catching the first train home in Tokyo was quite a sight (a city full of night owls? I love it!)...I enjoyed a view of San Francisco from the top of Twin Peaks..seeing Os Mutantes live on their first tour since '73 in NYC was unbelievable!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you how to brew the perfect cup of tea and how NOT to make a fruit tart. In fact, I can teach how how not to do a lot of things!

Countries I’ve Visited
