I just entered the second half of my life by moving 2,200 miles back to the west.

My wonderful son Aaron lives in Phoenix and I love how close I am to all my friends on the West Coast here.
I'm an avid learner. I love local magazines to get the taste of the town, and I love learning from people. I'm a huge supporter of the free press and worked at the Bay Guardian Newsweekly in San Francisco for many years. That's where my kids were born, then I moved them back to the good old Midwest (Downers Grove, Illinois) where they both were Track and Cross Country atheletes.

I'm a poet, a singer, and a songwriter, just like my son Ben. Ben became my angel five years ago at 22, and we've raised $100k so far through BensMemorialMile.com for suicide prevention and to find a cure for schizophrenia (he had late onset). I'm the author of Our Forever Ben. My son Ben and I wrote it together after he became my angel.
