Hiya!

I am Jamie, from Donegal, Ireland. I am currently in America on a year-long Fulbright scholarship , somehow.

I am supposed to spend most of my time teaching the Irish language to college students.

However I tend to have quite a bit of free time (maybe too much) so I tend to do quite a bit of travelling (maybe too much).

My background is in Music and Irish language mainly.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Really I just want to meet people from all walks of life, and see how they see things.

Also, I've made it to 23 of the United States (or the United States' states?) in the past few months. In other words it is time for me to 'tighten the belt', and try spend as little money as I can - on accommodation. So I'm hoping Couchsurfing will help that.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: I like it all. Everything and anything. There's nothing I wouldn't listen to, and no show I wouldn't go to.

Movies: Mostly films where nothing really happens. Doesn't sound too exciting but I like things like Dead Man's Shoes, Lost in Translation. Silence of the Lambs is a favourite too for some reason.

Books: Well I'm reading Siddhartha at the moment, so I should have the meaning of life figured out in no time..

Teach, Learn, Share

Well I'm a teacher by trade, so I would hope I am alright at teaching. I am always up (or down?) for learning new things, no matter what it is.

In a nutshell, I will say 'Yes' to anything once.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I've been sent to America on a scholarship, as a 'cultural ambassador' so I should have no bother sharing different chunks of info on all aspects of Irish culture. Other than that I will share whatever I can - food, drink, transport, clothes, everything.
