To ski places and climb stuff!

ABOUT ME

I'm currently working as a ski and snowboard instructor in Japan at the moment with hopes of doing some travel in May. Then back to Canada it is to work at my other job (teacher). Maybe a climbing road trip in the future, or back to school.

PHILOSOPHY

Do something every day that scares you, but ultimately, do what makes you happy. Not what others think should make you happy. Fight the norm.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Right now, I am wandering around without a real spot. I've been back and forth in Canada and haven't managed to live somewhere for longer than 4 months in a few years. I love showing people around and picking up hitchhikers and who knows, depending where I am, I may just have a couch!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've only surfed a bit in New Zealand and met some great people there! Would love the chance to show someone some awesome spots on my island!

Interessi

Skiing (on piste & backcountry), snowboarding, climbing (rock and ice), sea kayaking, surfing, hiking, slacklining and yoga!
In terms of climbing, I am more of a sport kinda gal with the occasional bouldering session or any easy trad line. With ice, I don't lead.. yet.
Any time spent outdoors is great, but I also love a good night out dancing.
I also enjoy reading a good piece of fiction and spending as much time as I can with my dog.

I listen to pretty much anything and everything but at the moment I'm really into Marina and the Diamonds, Alt-J, Goldfish, Parov Stelar, and Florence and the Machine, Stromae, etc.

The most amazing thing I've done is held a stingray in my hands. Once in a lifetime!
The most amazing thing I've seen is an avalanche happen.
I can't leave out building my own hot tub in the sand on a beach in NZ. Can't remember the name, but it was so cool.

I would love to help you with your English and or French, as I am a teacher. I would also love to teach you about the amazing island I grew up in, called Newfoundland. Can't say I am a great cook, but I do try! And.. I love a good chat!
