Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

This was before we joined CS. A few years ago, when we lived in California, we were coming back home from a trip to Tibet. We stopped in Taipei for 1 day and met an Australian who was leaving his country for the first time in his life! He was on his way to Canada but Taiwan was his first overseas experience. We invited him to join us in finding "Snake Alley," a place in Taipei where they drink various fluids from snakes. He took this hazing so well I invited him to climb Mt. Whitney with me the following winter (I had been planning the trip and was 1 man short). He accepted and a few months later came down to stay about 1 week with us in LA. We made a successful ascent of the highest peak in the continental US. Altogether a very random and exciting way to meet a mountaineering partner (who had never been above 6,000 feet before).

Interests

We travel a lot, love food, SCUBA dive, and enjoy outdoors/nature.
