Like most New Zealanders my age I travelled extensively in my 20’s and then settled back in NZ to work and raise a family.
We live in the idyllic Waitaki valley farming and growing our own food. (Inland from Oamaru approx 40km)
Our 3 adult daughters have now left home to attend university and start their careers. We have space to host for parts of the year when we are not so busy on the farm and the girls aren’t all at home.
We hosted with CS in about 2011 when the girls were very young to meet people. Then life got busy with family work and community roles.
In March 2024 I finally got to travel again and visit our eldest in Canada and spend time visiting old friends in the US, thus re-joining couch surfing.

兴趣

Growing and cooking our own food, I have a large vegetable garden and manage our village’s community vegetable garden and the local school’s vegetable garden. I volunteer in many roles and love to learn how others give back to community.

Books- having recently got glasses, my love for reading and learning has been rekindled. I’ve been known to read the odd Lee Child.

Helped restore an historic blacksmith shop in our local village and I now forge on the weekends as a volunteer creating things to be sold to raise money to keep the blacksmith running.

I love to chat to get to know people and seek out interests in common. I’m very curious which drives my husband crazy… always stopping to chat to people to find out their story.
