About Me

Hi everybody :),

my name is Jan and I'm from Germany. I grew up and finished my university education in my hometown Münster and have lived in Cologne for 1 year now. I'm a passionate musician, playing guitar 24/7 and now travelling as a street musician throughout Europe. I run my new solo project under my artist's name John Mystic.
You can check out my music on www.soundcloud.com/johnmystic :)
Concurrent I work as a civil engineer in Cologne.

I like getting to know new people and their cultures, making music with strangers and having inspiring conversations :).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Because of my upcoming plans to travel and presenting my music on the streets all over the world, I find that couchsurfing is a great platform to get in touch with people of various countries and hopefully making new friends and acquiantances. Naturally so far as it's possible (I'm pretty often on the road) I'd like to host people at my home in Cologne or Münster :). Just get in touch with me!

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm a big fan of old-fashioned music like Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Neil Young and stuff. I'm also very thrilled about 80's tunes like The Cure or New Order. But basically I find every kind of music interesting in its own way and intepretation, so I'm open-minded about that.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

This year I travelled with my best friend through the nature of Sweden and Norway and it was absolutely one of the most amazing journeys I ever had. In my view going tenting, fishing, hiking, living on the roots of our ancestors is one of the most relieving and fascinating things you can do. Especially nowadays where everybody seems to be permanently available on social media.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you playing guitar;). Mine is always with me!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm always glad to share my music, making music with people, sharing my language knowledge of German or polish as far as possible or just having a drink!

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France, Greece, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden
