关于我
Hey! :) My name is Jan-Philip, often just called JP! I am 24 years old and from Berlin. Currently, I study computer science to get myself a solid foundation to live upon - that’s already it about the relationship between computers and me. I rather enjoy spending time outside with friends, seeking for balance, making music and exploring different types of art, hiking and recharging in the mountains, pondering and reflecting on life and our existence and generally trying to embrace and acknowledge life with all its beauty, cruelty, ups and downs, adventures and tendency to change all over again.
我为什么加入 Couchsurfing
I like to experience a country that I am traveling as a tourist as authentic as possible - with its culture, people and their stories. Telling each other those stories, leaving behind these deep feeling of „we and them“ caused by borders, people end up just being people :)

我做过的一件不可思议的事情
My first CouchSurfing experience last year in Toronto: It was my first time using CouchSurfing , when I was randomly traveling without any plan across Canada. For my last days there, I wanted to spend some time in Toronto. I got in contact with Alex here on CouchSurfing and he invited me to stay at his place for 2 days. I had such intense two last days full of music, great people, tasty food and a crazily dynamic journey through the nightlife of Toronto - it was an otherworldly experience and made me feel like really witnessing the authentic magic of this cool city. Besides all of these wonderful shenanigans, Alex introduced me to the heartwarming idea of this platform - giving and warmly welcoming people without any demand for materialistic compensation…it’s a faith in humanity and that one day a warm welcome will find its way back to you :)

Values that I have really learned to appreciate over the last couple of years:
Honesty, Communication, Patience, Empathy and Curiosity.
You never know how the world really works and what unpredictable forms of change will await you.
I recently learned how complex and magnificently weird this reality can be and that there is always hope to await wonder.

•Sharing experiences and insights from many different situations in life, both beautiful and tragic ones. I really enjoy talking about those seemingly heavy topics - once you begin discussing , often there is a graceful feeling of relief and humanity. So if you’re down to some deep talk, I will happily join you!
•always an open ear for other‘s - listening and giving space
•Infinite musical energy - let’s go for a jam and let the rhythms and harmonies flow 🎼
•I could write you a spontaneous poem about a topic you like
•I can introduce you to the fascination of craft beer tastings 🍻
•when I am not too busy with thinking, I might come up with some dry humour to entertain :D
