ABOUT ME
Hi, I'm Jan and I love to travel and discover different cultures through food. As a translator and interpreter by education, I always try to find out as much as possible about the culture and language of our destination, and food is by far the best bridge to “local knowledge”. Is the country poor, or wealthy? Are the people happy? What are the priorities of the culture we have visited? I think you can learn all that, and much more, when you learn about local food and the people who prepare it. I could not imagine visiting a foreign country and eating in an international fast food chain, or going to a touristy place. I want to speak to the local people, taste their food and learn what they think and what they believe in.
