About Me

I‘m an open minded person, interested to meet people to share experiences and thoughts and to see things from a different perspective. I like swimming, hiking, cycling (on one or two wheels) and to do any other activty outside. I like sunshine, rain and snow.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Over and over again it was a great experience for me to stay with locals in a country or to just spend time with people I met via Couchsurfing.

Interests

I'm personally and professionally interested in society and individuals. I love Social Work and the concepts and theories it brings along. Within Social Work I enjoy learning about social/environmental justice, anti-discrimination, metal health, critical approaches towards Social Work practice and maaany more things ;) In my freetime I like moving around (sports), meeting people or travel to new or known places. I also enjoy silent moments: sitting alongside my flatmates cat, reading a book, drinking a cup of tea, taking a walk.

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen mostly to French, German, Dutch or Englisch songs. It can be any song that transfers a good message and makes me want to sing along. While I study or when I'm going out I enjoy techno.

Movies: I enjoy movies based on a true story/ movies that widen my horizon and set me thinking. And sometimes I just want to spend an evening with others and watch a funny without any deeper meaning.

Books: I read whatever I find in public bookshelfs :) I'm always happy if a book that shows another layer of human variety and diversity crosses my path.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Experiencing the silence and the view on a mountain when the sun is rising. Seeing the contentment of a sleeping cat.

Teach, Learn, Share

To me the seemingly mot simple things are the most valuable to learn or share. Language to me is one of them. I love to take along new words when I visit a country. I still remember words I learned while I travelled. And they remind me of the persons who shared them with me.
