About Me

I like being active and outside. I especially like hiking, but almost anything outside is fun. My activities include meditating, cooking, rollerblading, kayaking, reading, playing cards. I like learning new things and challenging myself. I practice the martial art of Aikido and the healing art of Trager. I like finding my boundaries and limits by going past them.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to travel and meet people. I like getting to know what the local culture is all about. Couch surfing seems like a great way to learn about a community. A friend of mine always had couchsurfing guests at her house and I really enjoyed meeting them. The conversations were always interesting.

Interests

I practice being present. I like laughing. One of my favorite things to do is help people find what they are good at and give them positive words to describe who they are. I am curious about nature, the human body, and consciousness. I am particularly fascinated with what motivates people to do really difficult things.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I lived in a 14 x 17 canvas wall tent for two years in New Hampshire. It was amazing!!!! I felt incredibly safe and at home. I loved hearing all the noises outside and seeing the shadows of trees and leaves and even a hummingbird through the canvas on a sunny day. I didn't have running water, electricity or plumbing. I did have a tiny woodstove, king size bed and tons of blankets!!!!!! I learned a lot about keeping a woodstove going, how to cook on the woodstove, how long food really lasts without refrigeration, what the beginning of hypothermia might be like, at what temperature my woodstove quit being useful, how to keep mice out, and which of my friends liked my company enough to actually visit, LOL!!!!!

Teach, Learn, Share

I like hearing about people's lives and what they get excited about, what they dedicate their time to. I would like to learn how to: tie knots, free dive, recognize wild edibles, cook Vietnamese food, mentally communicate with a horse while riding bareback, learn a new language, spend time with a whale, a new martial art, lucid dreaming, heal with intention, do Trager on horses, etc.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am a certified Trager Practitioner. I am passionate about this practice and how it helps both the practitioner and the client feel deeply present in their bodies. I would love to share it with you and your friends! I can also cook for you, help stack wood or do other chores.
