I am a primary school teacher, and i love it.
In October 2021 I started with Kyudo, the Japanese archery and I am fascinated in this. I enjoy the silence and the concentration, being right in the moment not spending any thought on anything else but the moment.
I love to be creative on many ways, always looking for new experiences and techniques. I have tried working with stone, I like to do collages, I did some experiences with handlettering and bible art journaling, I love to take my camera and hunt for some good fotos, I'm fascinated of urban sketching and I try to figure out how it works.....
While traveling I like to discover the way people live, learn about other cultures and maybe do some steps into a new language. From July 2022 to July 2023 I luckily had a sabbatical year. I traveled alone for the first time of my life and discovered an enjoyed couch surfing.
With a interrail ticket I discovered Scandinavia and I visited Japan for three months. I did the Ohenro pilgrimage on Shikoku and visited all 88 temples. A wonderful way to learn about the Japanese culture, enjoying the special hospitality and kindness of the people from Shikoku. I will never forget these experiences.
My favorite place is the kitchen... cooking, eating and talking together is great... spending time together.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love to travel and more than looking at the best sightseeing spots I like to discover the unknown. I like to just start and see what happens.... having no plan is my plan. I want to be open for what ever crosses my way.
I have been traveling with backpack and tend, with a bike and tend, with car and tent, with Kanu and tend, with car and caravan, with car and cottage, ......
But I´ve only been traveling alone once.... it feels different.... i liked it .... but there was something missing..... people.
Since l was 18 I dreamed of an interrail tour, feeling free to go where ever l want to....... it took some time but in summer 2022 I finally did it.
So traveling alone, learn about how people live, think and are that's why I'm here.
I´m sure I can learn a lot from all the interesting people out there.
I´m curious meeting you and collecting experiences on couches all over the world.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

As I was a student I traveled around Denmark and Sweden by bike with a friend. We visited my pen pal which was a great experience. On our way back to Germany we even spent a night in the house of his parents.
When I traveled through Senegal we meet some locals who showed us their city and shares a typical meal with us.
