About Me

Most of my time is dedicated to learning how to be an environmental engineer, but when I get some spare time I like to think I'll spend it practicing guitar and broadening my knowledge base. Realistically I will spend it surfing Netflix and watching Jimmy Kimmel put actors in hilarious situations. I'm easygoing almost to the point of it being a character flaw, and if I go to a new city I mostly want to wander around drinking cheap beer, listening to live music and chatting.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

If I really had to, I could probably bust $200 on staying in a hostel, but if the option is available I'd much rather bust $50 on buying a local a few cases of beer in exchange for a place to crash and some tips on what to do in the city.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Bob Dylan, Dave Matthews Band, Eric Clapton, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Sublime, and the Beatles. Then there's Gorrillaz, Gnarls Barkley, Flogging Molly, The Black Dogs, Florence and the Machine, and Mumford and Sons. These days I'm also into Milky Chance, Arctic Monkeys, the Black Keys, Passenger, Parov Stelar, and Sam Roberts.

Movies: Lord of the Rings is my go-to. I also like Say Anything, Moulin Rouge, R.E.D, Snatch, Fight Club, Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, Chicago, Almost Famous, A Knights Tale, the Princess Bride, the Big Lebowski, Office Space and also Tenacious D.

Books: The Hobbit, the Harry Potter series, the Secret Garden, Matilda by Roahld Dahl ... honestly I don't read very much. But I wish I did, and that oughta count for something.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went on a pretty rad 4 day hike through Alaska once.

Teach, Learn, Share

I know some guitar if you're into that. Or we could rip through some calculus if that's seriously what you want to learn (but let's not, 'cause it's not exactly thrilling material, and I'm mediocre at it at best). I love to learn about pretty much anything anyone is willing to teach me.

What I Can Share with Hosts

You name it. If I've got it, I'll share it ... the exhaustive list is just good company and a couple drinks 99% of the time.

Countries I’ve Visited

Mexico, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In

Canada
