No longer find it necessary to have one. Is it a must?
A constant friend who does what she says she will do and never leaves you stranded. Likes to be with people and also likes her solitude. Very sociable, curious, courteous, careful and cultured. Hasn't found out yet that she's no longer young, and maybe never will. Always moving about but always returns home too.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
curious, cultured, cautious, and I laugh a lot.
I have sometimes offered travellers I didn't know a place to stay and I was the recipient of similar hospitality In India, Sri Lanka, Israel and Pakistan. Now that I am an official CSer, I have had a wonderful experience surfing in India (2013 and 2014) and Indonesia (2013) and hosting several CSers in Spain thru the website. Looking forward to next trip to India (Jan 2015).
I am an avid musician, both listening and playing when and where I can. Not a fan of rock, but most other kinds of music touch me, particularly classical music.
I am interested to find out why and how people live the way they do, and this is the principal motivation for my travels. There are reasons I studied history, political science and sociology and gave not enough attention to practicing the violin. If given the choice of shopping or visiting a temple in India, a concert in Barcelona or a bookstore in London, I would never choose shopping. I am interested in the arts in general, music in particular, and good stories from CSers.
I don't know the meaning of 'boredom'.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Every morning when I wake up, look out of my bedroom window over the terrace to the hills and mountains of the Campo de Gibraltar, and see the sun peeping up behind the mountains, EVERY DAY, I can't believe how fortunate I am to live here.
And then, when I return to New York every year, where I lived for such a long time, come in from JFK, ride across the 59th Street Bridge and see the Manhattan skyline, or drink in a concert at BargeMusic with the buildings of lower Manhattan floating across the East River past the stage, I am also very very happy I haven't abandoned this vista altogether.
Teach, Learn, Share
Anybody who wants to play chamber music is welcome in my house. And I can sometimes provide instruments for travellers. I am also happy to have anyone cook for me, and let me cook for them. Good conversation over a good meal is the best experience.
