ABOUT ME

Hello! My name is Jane. I was born in central Taiwan and lived in Taipei for more than 10 years, until 1.5 years ago, I relocated to Singapore for work for Skyscanner, an online travel metasearch that I believe many of you are familiar with.

I myself am also a travel fanatic. I love to explore the world and get inspired by different people and experience. So far I’ve been to 30+ countries in the world, including Asia, Africa, Europe, North America and a bit of Oceania. Every time I travel to a new place (if not for pure vacationing), I try to read a book about it.

I speak fluent Mandarin, Taiwanese, English and moderate level of French.

In my spare time, I enjoy outdoor activities, reading and movies. I used to do hiking and cycling when I was in Taiwan often. I did a Kilimanjaro climb two years ago. Now that Singapore doesn’t offer much for mountains, I recently shift my interest to diving and rock climbing.

Most of my friends regard me as easy-going, open-minded and adventurous. Hope to meet you and be friends :slightly_smiling_face:

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

I started Couchsurfing back to the year 2011, when I was an exchange student in France. I have met many truly open-minded people, who passionately shared and presented their culture, who opened their houses to strangers as if they were friends for long, and who were curious about different things in the world. I really had a good time and learned a lot from the experience. What’s a shame is that I stopped CS for quite a while since moving back to Asia. Now I hope to pick it up again ;)

I’m quite into music, movie & books, but that’s too broad and I can’t imagine people who like none of it.

To know me more from my preferred types-

Music - I listened to rock and indie quite a lot when I was in college. Radiohead, Coldplay, Muse, Placebo, the Kooks are still my all-time favorite, but now I have a more diversified playlist, from pop, rock, hip-hop, funk to jazz, country music etc

Movie- Some of my favorite movies: Interstellar , Transpotting, Before sunshine/sunset/midnight, Les miserable, The judge etc Also a fan of Disney, Pixar, Miyazaki Hayao anime.

Books - currently reading : Guns, Germs and Steel / Actionable Gamification/ The year of living Danishly
