About Me

I'm a 24 year old journalist, who has decided to put a halt on my college career at the moment, in lieu of alot of consecutive life changes recently. I'm not new to traveling, I just haven't had the freedom to just go and do as I would've liked until now. So, that being said, I want to go any and everywhere and learn as much as I can in every way, shape and form. I can't wait to meet the lot of you, I know this program breeds a great many a person (i have friends who brag, haha) I'm excited to begin this journey of whatever it might be and I'd be honored to have any of you fine folk come into my life as a part of that or as a permanent fixture. I've rambled enough. I hope we all find what we're looking for from safe travels-to life changing experiences. I guess the exciting part is not knowing exactly where or how to start. I can't wait to begin forming friendships with the lot of you. Sorry for talking your ear off. Take care!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have discovered upon much research and feedback that it is an invaluable, once-in-a-lifetime experience, traveling this way. Also, the many places you can come in contact with is amazing. I am uber jealous/angry at myself for not jumping on this amazing opportunity sooner. But better late than never, right?

Interests

kayaking, hiking, camping, fishing, going to the beach, going to concerts/festivals, going to plays, going for adventures, driving endlessy while music plays in the background and just letting the wind make everything okay, great music, I too enjoy long romantic walks to the fridge, we're only human.

Music, Movies, and Books

A book that has always stuck with me would have to be Smack by Melvin Burgess, especially when related to alot of things I've had to face. I could read it over and over again. Movie wise, I'm a loser because I don't do many movies, but I will say I still love old classics like The Breakfust Club and whatnot. The Outsiders, you know. Not saying those are my favorite, but they definitely are some. Music wise, I'm currently being put in my paces by this amazing band from Athens (not too far from where I live in Alabama) called Mothers. And I recommend you do that too, for your sanity.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One amazing thing I've done, hmm...um, well I can't lie I thought it was pretty fun to get flown out to LA, all expenses paid, to model for a company. It still feels surreal, to be honest. I could've probably thought of a better one, also. Haha

Teach, Learn, Share

I feel in no place to teach anyone anything, but I will say this: never go back to the same action repetitively, expecting a different result, because that's just not the way it works. You've gotta stop hurting yourself at some point.
Something I have learned lately is that unless it takes a deep moral inventory, we can go about our lives (unfortunately) for the rest of it, never knowing just how miserable we make the people we love the most. The sooner you realize it, the better.
I'd just like to share a little something that helps me at times. There have been so many instances where it's like "wow, i'll never survive this. i see no end in sight." time passes, you even forget about that. just remember, many a time you have thought it couldn't get any better, yet look at you here and now, smiling. So i hope you take from that, don't ever feel like any bad emotion is permant.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I don't mind sharing any amenities I may bring along, cleaning supplies, things of that nature. Being that I'll be traveling, I'll only have the power to bring so many things, but I figure once there, that's the least of our worries and we can set up a list or something or figure it out from there.

And assuming you meant what have I learned that I could impart on future (hopeful hosts) is that what you're doing is absolutely amazing. I hope as many people find comfort and a true home in your places of living, that you end up taking away integral parts of other human beings and gaining friendships that last you all a lifetime if not more.
