ABOUT ME

Optimism doesn't kill

Thirst for knowledge and hunger for joy of live - this combination is something I appreciate of other people, and seek in my day-by-day lifestyle. When you travel it's somehow easier to find and to live out. I would like to define why...
I like to discuss about politics and like to laugh about (absurd) comedy of situations. I like completely unexpected things to happen. I like to see when someone is completely in his element. I like to write about things I like...
When I post the sentence „optimism doesn't kill“, it's just to emphazise the possible attitude to make the best of every situation that happens. (Which i like to try to do.) I intend to create outstanding moments but there is too much not in one's hand. So optimism helps.

PHILOSOPHY

Forrest Gump is my role model.

Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

My appartment in my hometown Leipzig is currently in intermediate rent. I am not in town, and not sure yet when I definately come back to Germany. But I am willing to host people as soon as I know for sure how and where I am going to live, back in Germany. I lived & worked in Odessa/ Ukraine for the last 10 months. Since then I had one couch surfer guest there in my appartment, but it was more inofficially through the contact of a colleague of mine that she stayed at my place, not via the Internet. Actually it was this experience – and other experience reports of friends of mine - that convinced me to become an „active“ couchsurfer - to meet other people as host or guest. I am looking forward!

Morceaux de musique, films et livres

When I start a book I must have the feeling I cannot stop reading from the first page. Otherwise I won't finish it..
The last books i loved to read: Moritz von Uslar, Deutschboden. Eine teilnehmende Beobachtung (I think there doesn't exist an English translation: it's about the hidden life in a small German town in Brandenburg where nothing seems really to happen); Serhij Zhadan, Anarchy in the UKR (an Ukrainian author in Charkiw who writes dark and easygoing at the same time). I read (and loved) a few books of Herta Müller, Peter Hoeg and T.C. Boyle.

To write about music you like is really difficult. I like old and new stuff, different types of music definately. Nina Simone, Grandmaster Flash and the Beatles e.g., Olöf Arnalds, William Elliot Whitmore and PJ Harvey... I like sohisticated ballads and music that makes you wanna dance immediately.

Billy Elliot, I can dance – my forever one and only most beloved one movie! I cried terribly watching One Million Dollar Baby. Always recomended Persepolis and Waltz with Bashir. And for the Germans: yes, I watch the Tatort. There so many movies that have a personal worth in special life periods. And timeless classics which remain unforgettable...

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

When I visited my grandmum as a student nearly every Sunday, she always wanted me to call her from the bus to say a key sentence that she can start to warm up the meal for our lunch together. So I was standing there many times in the bus shouting loudly in the telephone (she was hard of hearing) „You can put on the potatoes now!“ I never forget that moment hanging up again and you still feel the echo of that sentence in the quiet bus...

Enseignez, apprenez, partagez

I must think about that.
