Overview
About Me
I retired from my full-time career in healthcare but still teach part-time, remotely. My sons are adults with their own families, and I love the freedom to travel and meet other people. I'm still young at heart and actively enjoying life as much as possible. I try to combine travel and music sometimes. I adore cats, but I haven't had one in years. I'm trying to learn Turkish but could use some help. I sometimes cook, but that's not my favorite thing to do. I'm a little on the techy, nerdy side of life, and writing is something I enjoy but don't seem to have enough time to focus on it.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've got many friends, but finding someone to travel with me at the times and to the places I want to go isn't always easy. CS is a way I can stay with like-minded people, be safe while exploring, and stretch my travel budget further. A couple of my friends have been Couch Surfers (hosting and visiting) for a while and said they thought I'd like it, too. I live in a condo with an extra bedroom and bathroom for guests, and the public areas of the living room, kitchen, and patio. This concept of CS is new for me. FOR SAFETY, I WILL ONLY HOST GUESTS WITH A FULLY VERIFIED PROFILE AND WHO PROVIDE A COPY OF YOUR GOVERNMENT-ISSUED PHOTO ID WHEN REQUESTING TO CS AT MY PLACE. My schedule is quite full this year with my own travel but have a few dates I'll be available for hosting.

Music, Movies, and Books
One of my favorite things to do is hear live music. Currently I'm into these bands: Balthvs, Arc De Soleil, Khruangbin, Hermanos Gutierrez, Skinshape, Dope Lemon, L'Eclair, LA LOM, Kiltro, Allah-Las, The Black Keys, and many more. I generally fall asleep if I sit still long enough to "try" to watch a movie, but some can hold my interest. I prefer audio books to physical books, and I mostly prefer non-fiction and learning something new with my reading materials. But I love to write, particularly about life and the comedic results of life.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I made it to the fantastic age of 65, stopped the crazy grind of a daily career (tremendous stress reduction), and have been checking off many bucket list items. One of the most amazing things was going to Istanbul with a friend and spending a week exploring that fantastic city. I want to return, but there are many other places I want to see, too.
Teach, Learn, Share
I teach an entrepreneurship class to the military/veteran community, so I understand how to start a small business. I've had several myself, and I can teach you the basics.
I am trying to Learn Turkish, because a former Turkish boyfriend inspired me. Even after that relationship ended, my lessons have continued. It would be nice to learn from a native speaker.
Having lived a very interesting life, I've learned many lessons and tips on how to do life with flair and fun. I'm happy to share what experience has taught me.
