Been traveling the world through books for my entire life and, in doing so, fell madly in love with England. Land of King Arthur and Robin Hood when I was young. Land of Shakespeare, Tolkien and Blackadder when I grew older. And somewhere in between: the land where boyhood hero Philip Albert became part of Kevin Keegan's football dream.

Now looking to experience the city of Newcastle and the whole of England as more than just a tourist or a football fan. I wanna be part of it: meet real people and discover real places.

I have a very wide taste in books and movies. I almost never read two books or watch two movies of the same style or genre after each other.

Books:
* Haruki Murakami, Paul Auster and Umberto Eco on the one hand
* J.R.R. Tolkien, George R.R. Martin, Terry Pratchett and China Miéville on the other
* And a whole range in between, from timeless classics to modern day novels in which the author shows ambition ("Cloud Atlas" springs to mind)

Movies: East of Eden, Inception, The Prestige and almost everything made by Christopher Nolan, (500) Days of Summer, Pan's Labyrinth, The French Lieutenant's Woman, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, ...

Music: the album "Leaving Songs" by Stuart A. Staples on repeat, but also Leonard Cohen, Camera Obscura, Oasis (if I wanna relive my youth) and so much more

Made my preschool daughters addicted to the story of "The Hobbit", from which I have to tell them a part almost every morning at breakfast, only to start again at the beginning once we've finished
