Hi there!

I'm Jan and I like traveling a lot! Getting around in Europe by train or hopping into a plane to another continent is simply a great thing to do. Experiencing different cultures, meeting people, and exploring beautiful landscapes is wonderful. It's even more fun and authentic when you've got the chance to stay at a local home and this is why I'm using Couchsurfing.

I grew up in Thun, Switzerland which is close to the alps. The surrounding there influenced me a lot with all the activities I'm doing such as climbing, surfing, backcountry skiing, trail running, and of course hiking. Even during the last years when I moved to Zurich for my studies, I hopped on the train on Fridays to spend the weekend in nature with friends and family. But living in a bigger city also has beautiful sides. It's where culture is vibrant and expressed in art, music, and great food. Having the opportunity to bridge these worlds amazes me again and again.
