ABOUT ME

I'm a musician/researcher from Finland, working/studying/living in Joensuu at the moment, studied earlier in Greece, in love with Greek food/music/language and the Balkans in general. My new passion is Georgia.

PHILOSOPHY

I am an Orthodox Christian and I'd be glad to meet Orthodox brothers and sisters from all around the world.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I travel quite a lot around the world both for work (concert tours, masterclasses, teaching, research) and fun, so meeting locals is always great. Here in Helsinki I can host whenever I am at home.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've been hosted in many countries (Germany, Russia, Georgia, Turkey, Greece, the US among others) and I have always enjoyed it: some of my hosts have become close friends. In Helsinki I have hosted people from France, Georgia, Greece, Germany, Russia and other places: always a nice experience.

Interests

I'm especially interested in languages, the stranger the better... I always enjoy music, which is also supposed to be my work, and other arts. Food and cooking is my passion and I'll be glad to cook for you when I'm either surfing or hosting.

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy listening to classical (especially Baroque) and folk music, but actually anything goes - as long as it is sung/played well :-) I love going to opera and seeing different opera houses around Europe, but the best thing is singing with friends and having fun in informal occasions.

Teach, Learn, Share

Singing, playing and dancing together is always fun, as well as eating and cooking together. Drinking local beverages is usually delightful. I'm glad to teach Finnish or Greek to anyone who's interested, and I'm more than eager to learn more languages.
