About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I want to see as much of the world as possible and would like to encourage others to do the same by offering them my couch in small-town Japan.

ABOUT ME

I hail from Montreal, Quebec, Canada, but actually consider Calgary, Alberta, to be my home town. I'm into anything outdoorsy and love talking about travelling and outdoor pursuits. I'm living in Japan for a year, teaching English at a local high school, but am planning on traveling through Asia, Europe and Africa as of August.

PHILOSOPHY

Live fully.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I offer my couch to any surfer in need.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'm pretty new to the couchsurfing scene, but I did meet a pretty cool couchsurfer from the Netherlands (?) a couple of months ago and his stories got me thinking this might be a good idea!

Interests

Outdoor pursuits: walking, hiking, running, climbing, backpacking, going to the beach

Travelling: I've mostly participated in programs that have allowed me to live in rural areas in the countries I have visited. I love to learn about cultures all over the world.

Food: all kinds of ethnic food.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like a variety of books, music and books - mostly anything that is light (not scary!) or instructive (documentaries, historical novels, etc.)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I lived with a host family in a village in Mali, West Africa for 3 months and taught french to 100 grade one students at the village school.

Teach, Learn, Share

I studied International Development in university so I love to discuss anything related to that subject; however, I feel more like a student than a teacher at the moment.
