Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I surf and I host.  I would like to get involved with the local CS community but my schedule often keeps me from doing so :0(

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've traveled a lot using hostels and I now have some experience with couchsurfing. I've hosted and couchsurfed in the past. I look forward to many more experiences.

Interests

I love playing and watching football(soccer to us Americans). I like running, hiking, backpacking, kayaking, canoeing, biking, and many other outdoors activities. I'm always looking for good trails to wander down! I also like to read about politics, international relations, and I'm working on learning Chinese.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm currently on an AfroCelt Soundsystem kick. I just can't stop listening to their music.

I enjoy anything written by Thomas Friedman. Howard Zinn's "A People's History of the United States" is amazing. I read a lot about the oil industry and China. I'm now also reading a lot of law books!

I like most types of movies. Some favorites are Constant Gardener, Waiting, Crash, The Kingdom, Tears of the Sun, and Good Will Hunting.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My girlfriend Shannon and I spent time kayaking around the Hundred Islands National Park in the Philippines. We rented an open top tandem kayak and covered the mile and a half out to the first of the islands. We spent the rest of the day kayaking around the islands and lounging on tiny beaches that we had all to ourselves.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach about running and other physical activity.I would like to learn Mandarin Chinese.I love to share meals and stories of past travels and future travel plans!!
